Our Mission
ComparePlants exists to simplify the plant-finding experience for UK gardeners. We believe that discovering which retailers stock the plant you want shouldn't require searching across dozens of websites. By bringing together information from the UK's leading garden retailers in one place, we help gardeners find what they're looking for quickly and easily.
Our Story
ComparePlants was born from a simple frustration: searching for a specific plant variety across multiple retailer websites and not knowing which ones stocked it. A task that should have taken minutes consumed hours.
We realised that gardeners had no easy way to see which UK retailers carried a particular plant. So we built ComparePlants — a free tool that brings together information from major UK garden retailers in one place.
We currently compare live prices across 125 UK nurseries, drawn from the 245 retailers we monitor. The two numbers differ on purpose: a retailer joins a comparison only once we have prices from it we are confident in. Our focus remains on simplicity, honesty, and putting gardeners first.

We don't show favouritism to any retailer. Our search results are ranked by relevance, not by commission potential. We work for you, not the retailers.

We've built ComparePlants using modern web technologies to ensure fast, reliable access to plant information across major UK garden retailers.
Plant Name Data
Our search understands botanical names, synonyms and misspellings using the World Checklist of Vascular Plants — the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew's reference list of accepted plant names. It is what lets us recognise that an older botanical name and its current accepted name are the same plant, and correct a mistyped genus.
